CERIMONIA DI INVESTITURA 2023 DEL GRAN BALIATO DI SICILIA ED INSEDIAMENTO DEL NUOVO CAPPELLANO MAGGIORE

Si è svolto 16 aprile 2023, presso la Chiesa Capitolare del Sacro Cuore in Monreale, il solenne pontificale presieduto dall’arcivescovo emerito Mons. Michele Pennisi, GCLJ, e concelebrato dall’arcivescovo di Monreale Mons. Gualtiero Isacchi, ECLJ, dall’Abate di San Martino delle Scale Dom Vittorio Rizzone, ECLJ, e dall’Archimandrita Chihade Abboud, ChLJ, Procuratore Generale presso la Santa Sede del Patriarca Melkita di Antiochia, alla cui fine ha avuto luogo l’investitura dell’arcivescovo Isacchi come Commendatore Ecclesiastico dell’Ordine Militare ed Ospedaliero di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme e l’assunzione della carica di Cappellano Maggiore del Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine e del Capitolo dei Cavalieri di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme in Monreale.

Nel corso della cerimonia, presieduta dal Gran Balì di Sicilia, nella quale ha ricevuto l’investitura anche un nuovo membro laico dell’Ordine, è stato pure promosso al grado di Cavaliere ed insediato come nuovo Luogotenente Generale del Gran Baliato l’avv. Pietro Luigi Matta, KLJ, che ne guiderà il governo su delega del Gran Balì, e sono state consegnate delle decorazioni di merito alla Karol s.p.a. ed al suo presidente, Avv. Marco Zummo, per il supporto offerto all’attività del progetto “Sanità Solidale” che ormai da oltre un anno offre cure ed assistenza gratuite ai più disagiati ed a quanti, appartenenti a diverse etnie e religioni, non sono in grado di accedere alle strutture del servizio sanitario nazionale.

A solemn pontifical service was held April 16, 2023, at the Chapter Church of the Sacred Heart in Monreale, presided over by Archbishop Emeritus Msgr. Michele Pennisi, GCLJ, and concelebrated by Archbishop of Monreale Msgr. Gualtiero Isacchi, ECLJ, the Abbot of San Martino delle Scale Dom Vittorio Rizzone, ECLJ, and Archimandrite Chihade Abboud, ChLJ, Procurator General to the Holy See of the Melkite Patriarch of Antioch, at the end of which took place the investiture of Archbishop Isacchi as Ecclesiastical Commander of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem and the assumption of the office of Senior Chaplain of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order and Chapter of the Knights of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem in Monreale.

During the ceremony, presided over by the Grand Bailiff of Sicily, in which a new lay member of the Order was also invested, a new Lieutenant General of the Grand Bailiwick was also promoted to the rank of Knight and installed as the new Lieutenant General of the Grand Bailiwick, Mr. Pietro Luigi Matta, KLJ, who will lead its government by delegation from the Grand Bailiff, and decorations of merit were presented to Karol s.p.a. and its president, Adv. Marco Zummo, for their support for the activities of the "Sanità Solidale" project, which for more than a year now has been offering free care and assistance to the most disadvantaged and to those who, belonging to different ethnic groups and religions, are unable to access the facilities of the national health service.
