FIRMATO IL PROTOCOLLO D’INTESA TRA LA SAN LAZZARO ONLUS E L’ASSOCIAZIONE MEDICI CATTOLICI ITALIANI

Il 25 maggio 2025, presso la Chesa Capitolare del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, il presidente della San Lazzaro onlus Dr. Giuseppe Canzone ed il Presidente dell’Associazione Medici Cattolici Italiani – Sezione di Sicilia Dr.Raffaele Pomo hanno formato un protocollo d’intesa finalizzato alla erogazione gratuita di prestazioni sanitarie a favore delle persone che non dispongono di una assistenza sanitaria a carico del SSN.

Tali prestazioni saranno erogate con la piena integrazione dei Confratelli Soci della “San Lazzaro Onlus” e dei medici del “AMCI”.

Ai fini della individuazione dei soggetti destinatari delle prestazioni ci si potrà anche avvalere della CARITAS, nelle sue varie articolazioni diocesane, secondo termini e modalità che saranno concordate con le strutture locali, organismo pastorale costituito dalla Chiesa Cattolica locale al fine di promuovere, anche in collaborazione con altri organismi, la testimonianza della carità della comunità ecclesiale diocesana, in forme consone ai tempi e ai bisogni, in vista dello sviluppo integrale dell’uomo, della giustizia sociale e della pace, con particolare attenzione agli ultimi e con prevalente funzione pedagogica (cfr. art.1 Statuto Caritas Italiana).

In particolare, l’AMCI erogherà, in accordo ed in sinergia con la San Lazzaro Onlus, prestazioni sanitari inerenti le varie branche della medicina e per l’espletamento delle suddette dell’attività sanitarie si confronterà con la “San Lazzaro Onlus” ciò al fine di poter determinare e personalizzare la migliore assistenza per persona assistita oggetto delle opportune cure.

SIGNED THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN SAN LAZZARO ONLUS AND THE ITALIAN CATHOLIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION

On 25 May 2025, at the Chesa Capitolare del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, the President of San Lazzaro Onlus Dr. Giuseppe Canzone and the President of the Associazione Medici Cattolici Italiani - Sezione di Sicilia Dr. Raffaele Pomo formed a memorandum of understanding aimed at providing free healthcare services to people who do not have healthcare assistance under the National Health Service.

These services will be provided with the full integration of the Brother Members of the ‘San Lazzaro Onlus’ and the doctors of the ‘AMCI’.

For the purpose of identifying the recipients of the services, the CARITAS, in its various diocesan branches, may also be used, according to terms and procedures to be agreed upon with the local structures, a pastoral body set up by the local Catholic Church in order to promote, also in cooperation with other bodies, the diocesan ecclesial community's witness of charity, in forms appropriate to the times and needs, with a view to the integral development of man, social justice and peace, with particular attention to the least and with a prevalent pedagogical function (cf. art.1 Caritas Italiana Statute).

In particular, the AMCI will provide, in agreement and in synergy with the San Lazzaro Onlus, healthcare services relating to the various branches of medicine, and for the performance of the aforementioned healthcare activities, it will consult with the San Lazzaro Onlus in order to be able to determine and customise the best assistance for the assisted person receiving the appropriate care.
