IL GRAN PRIORATO D’AMERICA CELEBRA IL 50°
ANNIVERSARIO DALLA FONDAZIONE

Il Gran Priorato d’America, che include Stati Uniti d’America e Messico, una delle giurisdizioni più vaste ed attive nel campo sanitario ed assistenziale dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme, festeggia quest’anno i suoi primi 50 anni di vita.

Fondato nel 1971, già nel 1972 ricevette la visita dell’allora Gran Maestro dell’Ordine, la prima di un Gran Maestro lazzarita nel nuovo mondo.

Al Gran Priorato d’America fanno capo varie giurisdizioni regionali: 6 Gran Commende, la Delegazione Imperiale di Calcasieu e la Delegazione del Messico, quest’ultima dotata di ampia autonomia.

La carica di Gran Priore è ricoperta, dal 2012, da Sua Eccellenza il Cavaliere Kenneth P. Moritsugu, GCLJ; prima di lui lo erano stati Sua Eccellenza il Cavaliere Hans von Leden GCLJ, MD, fino al 2006, Sua Eccellenza il Cavaliere Bruce M. Harrington GCLJ, JD, fino al 2012.

The Grand Priory of America, which includes the United States of America and Mexico, one of the largest and most active health and welfare jurisdictions of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, celebrates its first 50 years this year.

Founded in 1971, it received a visit from the then Grand Master of the Order in 1972, the first visit by a Lazarite Grand Master to the New World.

The Grand Priory of America is made up of various regional jurisdictions: 6 Grand Commanderies, the Imperial Delegation of Calcasieu and the Delegation of Mexico, the latter with a large degree of autonomy.

The office of Grand Prior is held, since 2012, by His Excellency Knight Kenneth P. Moritsugu, GCLJ; before him were His Excellency Knight Hans von Leden GCLJ, MD, until 2006, His Excellency Knight Bruce M. Harrington GCLJ, JD, until 2012.
