IL PATRIARCA PROTETTORE DELL’ORDINE IL GRAN PRIORE ECCLESIASTICO E DUE CAPPELLANI DEL GRAN BALIATO DI SICILIA ALLA MESSA DI INIZIO PONTIFICATO DI LEONE XIV

Il Patriarca Protettore dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro, Sua Beatitudine il Patriarca Melchita Youssef Absi, ha partecipato, il 18 maggio 2025, con gli altri patriarchi orientali cattolici al rito di inizio pontificato di Sua Santità Leone XIV, pregando con il Pontefice presso la tomba di San Pietro nella Basilica vaticana.

Al solenne pontificale di intronizzazione, durante il quale è stato imposto il pallio e consegnato l’anello del pescatore, ha pure concelebrato il Gran Priore Ecclesiastico dell’Ordine Sua Eccellenza Reverendissima l’arcivescovo Mons. Michele Pennisi, ECLJ, ed hanno presenziato due dei cappellani del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, Sua Eminenza l’Arcivescovo Antonii, ECLJ, Metropolita Antonio dell'Europa occidentale e centrale del Patriarcato ortodosso bulgaro ed il Rev.mo Prof. Dr. Ivan Ivanov, CHLJ, Presbitero della chiesa ortodossa bulgara.

THE PATRIARCH PROTECTOR OF THE ORDER THE ECCLESIASTICAL GRAND PRIOR AND TWO CHAPLAINS OF THE GRAND BAILIWICK OF SICILY AT THE MASS OF THE BEGINNING OF THE PONTIFICATE OF LEONE XIV

The Patriarch Protector of the Order of St. Lazarus, His Beatitude Patriarch Melkite Youssef Absi, participated on May 18, 2025, with the other Eastern Catholic patriarchs in the rite of the beginning of the pontificate of His Holiness Leo XIV, praying with the Pontiff at the tomb of St. Peter in the Vatican Basilica.

Also concelebrating at the solemn pontifical enthronement, during which the pallium was imposed and the fisherman's ring was given, was the Grand Ecclesiastical Prior of the Order His Most Reverend Excellency Archbishop Mons. Michele Pennisi, ECLJ, and attended by two of the chaplains of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily, His Eminence Archbishop Antonii, ECLJ, Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe of the Bulgarian Orthodox Patriarchate and the Most Rev. Prof. Dr. Ivan Ivanov, CHLJ, Presbyter of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
