INCONTRO DEL LUOGOTENENTE GENERALE DEL GRAN BALIATO DI SICILIA CON SUA EMINENZA ANTONIJ METROPOLITA DELL'EUROPA OCCIDENTALE E CENTRALE DELLA CHIESA ORTODOSSA BULGARA

Il Luogotenente Generale del Gran Baliato di Sicilia Avv. Pietro Luigi Matta, KLJ, ha partecipato, presso la Basilica Pontificia di San Clemente in Roma, insieme al Gran Priore Ecclesiastico dell’Ordine e Cappellano Maggiore Emerito del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, Mons. Michele Pennisi, GCLJ, alla solenne celebrazione liturgica dei Santi Cirillo e Metodio presieduta da Sua Eminenza Antonj, Metropolita dell’Europa Occidentale e Centrale della Chiesa Ortodossa Bulgara.

La celebrazione festeggiava, quest’anno, anche i 70 anni della restaurazione canonica del Patriarcato di Bulgaria e del 10° anniversario dell’elezione canonica ed intronizzazione di Sua Santità Neofit Patriarca di Bulgaria e Metropolita di Sofia e del Metropolita dell’Europa Centrale ed Occidentale della Chiesa ortodossa di Bulgaria.

Presente alla liturgia anche il Presidente dell’Assemblea Nazionale delle Repubblica di Bulgaria S.E. Rosen Jelyazkov, oltre ad alcuni ambasciatori della Repubblica di Bulgaria accreditati presso la Santa Sede.

Alla fine della liturgia il Luogotenente Generale ha incontrato il Metropolita e gli ha consegnato un messaggio inviatogli dal Gran Balì di Sicilia; il Metropolita ha avuto parole di grande apprezzamento per lo slancio ecumenico dell’Ordine e per l’attività del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, ed ha ringraziato il Luogotenente Generale per la sua presenza alla cerimonia.

MEETING OF THE LIEUTENANT GENERAL OF THE GRAND BAILIWICK OF SICILY WITH HIS EMINENCE ANTONIJ METROPOLITAN OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL EUROPE OF THE BULGARIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH

Lieutenant General of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily Adv. Pietro Luigi Matta, KLJ, participated, at the Pontifical Basilica of San Clemente in Rome, together with the Order's Ecclesiastical Grand Prior and Chaplain Major Emeritus of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily, Msgr. Michele Pennisi, GCLJ, in the solemn liturgical celebration of Saints Cyril and Methodius presided over by His Eminence Antonj, Metropolitan of Western and Central Europe of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

The celebration was also celebrating, this year, the 70th anniversary of the canonical restoration of the Patriarchate of Bulgaria and the 10th anniversary of the canonical election and enthronement of His Holiness Neofit Patriarch of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia and Metropolitan of Western and Central Europe of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

Also present at the liturgy was the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria H.E. Rosen Jelyazkov, as well as several ambassadors of the Republic of Bulgaria accredited to the Holy See.

At the end of the liturgy the Lieutenant General met with the Metropolitan and handed him a message sent to him by the Grand Bailiff of Sicily; the Metropolitan had words of great appreciation for the Order's ecumenical impulse and the and the activities of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily, and thanked the Lieutenant General for his presence at the ceremony.
