MESSAGGIO DI S.A.S. IL GRAN MAESTRO AI MEMBRI DELL’ORDINE DI SAN LAZZARO IN MEMORIA DEL GRAN MAESTRO EMERITO

In memoria di mio padre, S.E. Don Francisco de Borbón y Escasany, V Duca di Siviglia.

Cari membri dell'Ordine, è con grande dolore che condivido la notizia della scomparsa del mio amato padre, Gran Maestro Emerito dell'Ordine Militare e Ospedaliero di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme.

Le parole non possono catturare la profondità del mio dolore. Mio padre non era solo un nobile e un leader di notevole distinzione, ma soprattutto un padre gentile e amorevole. Con pazienza, saggezza e un'infinita cordialità, mi ha guidato nella vita, instillando in me i valori che mi sono cari. Il suo sostegno incrollabile e i suoi consigli gentili sono state benedizioni che porterò sempre con me.

Come Gran Maestro Emerito, l'eredità di mio padre all'interno dell'Ordine è profonda e duratura. Il suo mandato è stato caratterizzato da uno spirito di riconciliazione e di unità. Grazie alla sua ferma leadership, ha realizzato ciò che molti ritenevano impossibile: riunire obbedienze divise e sanare ferite a lungo conservate. La sua grazia diplomatica, la sua umiltà e il suo impegno costante per l'unità dell'Ordine rimangono una testimonianza del suo carattere.

Ma ben oltre i titoli e gli onori, mio padre era un uomo d'azione e di compassione. Ha viaggiato per il mondo non per ottenere riconoscimenti, ma per servire, supervisionando la costruzione di ospedali, sostenendo gli sforzi umanitari e vivendo la missione del nostro Ordine con sincerità e devozione.

In questo momento di lutto, vi chiedo umilmente, cari fratelli e sorelle di San Lazzaro, di ricordarlo nelle vostre preghiere. Che la sua anima possa trovare la pace eterna e che la sua eredità possa continuare a ispirarci a servire con grazia, compassione e unità.

In Loving Memory of My Father, H.E.D. Francisco de Borbón y Escasany, V Duke of Seville

Dear Members of the Order,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my beloved father, Grand Master Emeritus of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem.

Words cannot truly capture the depth of my sorrow. My father was not only a nobleman and a leader of remarkable distinction, but above all, a kind and loving father. With patience, wisdom, and a boundless warmth, he guided me through life, instilling in me the values I hold dear. His unwavering support and gentle counsel were blessings I will carry with me always.

As Grand Master Emeritus, my father’s legacy within the Order is both profound and enduring. His tenure was marked by a spirit of reconciliation and unity. Through his steady leadership, he achieved what many believed impossible—reuniting divided obediences and healing wounds long held. His diplomatic grace, humility, and steadfast commitment to the Order’s unity remain a testament to his character.

But far beyond titles and honors, my father was a man of action and compassion. He traversed the world not for accolades, but for service—overseeing the building of hospitals, supporting humanitarian efforts, and living the mission of our Order with sincerity and devotion.

In this time of mourning, I humbly ask you, dear brothers and sisters of Saint Lazarus, to remember him in your prayers. May his soul find peace eternal, and may his legacy continue to inspire us to serve with grace, compassion, and unity.
