NUOVE ACQUISIZIONI NEL TESORO DEL GRAN BALIATO DI SICILIA

Il Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme ha proceduto all’acquisto di una preziosa Bibbia del 1650 (Biblia Sacra Vulgata Ediciones Sixti V Pont. Max.), pubblicata sotto il Pontificato di Papa Clemente VIII, sulla quale, secondo le secolari tradizioni dell’Ordine, giureranno tutti i futuri membri all’atto dell’investitura e gli Alti Dignitari della giurisdizione siciliana al momento dell’assunzione delle funzioni.

Si tratta della 1^ edizione di quella Bibbia ed è redatta in latino.

Il volume va ad arricchire il tesoro del Gran Baliato e sarà esposta in permanenza presso la Chiesa Capitolare insieme con le insegne del Gran Balì.

NEW ACQUISITIONS IN THE TREASURY OF THE GRAND BAILIWICK OF SICILY

The Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem has acquired a precious Bible from 1650 (Biblia Sacra Vulgata Ediciones Sixti V Pont. Max.), published under the Pontificate of Pope Clement VIII, on which, according to the secular traditions of the Order, all future members will swear an oath at the moment of investiture and the High Dignitaries of the Sicilian jurisdiction at the moment of taking office.

This is the first edition of that Bible and is written in Latin.

The volume enriches the treasury of the Grand Bailiwick and will be permanently displayed in the Chapter Church together with the insignia of the Grand Bailiff.
