ACQUISITA AL TESORO DEL GRAN BALIATO UNA “DEPOSIZIONE DI CRISTO DALLA CROCE” DI SCUOLA FIAMMINGA DEL XVII SECOLO

L’opera, olio su pannello ligneo di scuola fiamminga del XVII secolo, proviene dai Paesi Bassi ed è attribuita ad un seguace di Maarten de Vos, e risulta realizzata tra il 1600 ed il 1650.

Il dipinto trova raffronti con una incisione di Hieronymus Wierix del 1584 su invenzione di Maarten de Vos. Ed è confrontabile con una Deposizione di Cristo attribuita in scheda inventariale a Bartolomeo Spranger e conservata presso la pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco di Milano.

Il dipinto misura 104 x 71 cm e con la cornice 130 x 96 cm.

ACQUIRED AT THE TREASURY OF THE GRAND BALIATE A “DEPOSITION OF CHRIST FROM THE CROSS” OF THE FLEMISH SCHOOL OF THE 17TH CENTURY

The work, an oil on wooden panel of the 17th century Flemish school, comes from the Netherlands and is attributed to a follower of Maarten de Vos, and was painted between 1600 and 1650.

The painting can be compared to an engraving by Hieronymus Wierix from 1584 based on an invention by Maarten de Vos. And it is comparable with a Deposition of Christ attributed in the inventory card to Bartolomeo Spranger and kept in the Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco in Milan.

The painting measures 104 x 71 cm and with the frame 130 x 96 cm.
