CELEBRATE LE INVESTITURE NEL GRAN BALIATO DEI PAESI BASSI E PRIORATO DEL BELGIO

Si sono svolte il 10-11 ottobre 2025, all’Aja, in Olanda, le investiture dei nuovi membri dell’Ordine per il Gran Baliato della Repubblica dei Paesi Bassi ed il Priorato del Belgio, alla presenza del Gran Commendatore dell’Ordine S.E. il Cavaliere Kenneth P. Moritsugu, GCLJ, presso la Chiesa Vetero-Cattolica dei Santi Giacomo ed Agostino.

La chiesa “segreta” vetero-cattolica di dei Santi Giacomo ed Agostino è in uso solo dal 1722, perché dal 1578 il culto cattolico era vietato. Solo nel 1640 la fede cattolica divenne più tollerata e negli anni successivi si tennero molte funzioni religiose nella casa di uno dei pastori in Juffrouw Idastraat. Quando la chiesa cadde in rovina, alla comunità fu concesso il permesso di costruire una vera e propria chiesa. Questa divenne la chiesa segreta vecchio-cattolica di S. Giacomo e S. Agostino dove, nel 1722, si tenne la prima funzione religiosa. L'edificio continuò a essere utilizzato per i primi dieci anni dopo la prima funzione religiosa. La chiesa divenne infine una delle più belle chiese nascoste dei Paesi Bassi.

CELEBRATED THE INVESTITURES IN THE GRAND BALTY OF THE NETHERLANDS AND PRIORATE OF BELGIUM

On 10–11 October 2025, in The Hague, Netherlands, the investiture of the new members of the Order for the Grand Bailiwick of the Republic of the Netherlands and the Priory of Belgium took place, in the presence of the Grand Commander of the Order, H.E. Knight Kenneth P. Moritsugu, GCLJ, at the Old Catholic Church of Saints James and Augustine.

The Old Catholic secret church of the H.H. James and Augustine has only been in use since 1722, because from 1578 Catholic worship was banned. It was not until 1640 that the Catholic faith became more tolerated, the following years there were many worship services in the house of one of the pastors on Juffrouw Idastraat. When the church fell into disrepair, the community was given permission to build a real church. This became the Old Catholic secret church of H.H. James and Augustine, where the first worship service was held in 1722. The building has continued for the first ten years, after the first worship service. The church eventually became one of the more beautiful hidden churches in the Netherlands.
