DONAZIONE DI VESTIARIO PER 40.000 EURO AI PROFUGHI DELL’UCRAINA

Il Gran Baliato di Sicilia, attraverso la San Lazzaro ONLUS, il proprio braccio operativo in campo assistenziale, ha donato mille abiti nuovi, per un valore di 40.000 euro, destinati ai profughi in fuga dall’Ucraina, che saranno consegnati al confine tra Polonia ed Ucraina con il supporto della Caritas.

In questa occasione il Gran Balì ha ricordato come l’Ordine di San Lazzaro abbia una tradizione millenaria di vicinanza a tutti coloro che si trovano in difficoltà e subiscono ingiustizie e come anche in questo caso, con la ferma condanna del barbaro attacco da parte di Putin al popolo ucraino, il Gran Baliato di Sicilia intendesse dare il proprio modesto contributo per alleviare le sofferenze di chi fugge dalla guerra.

Il Gran Balì ha pure sottolineato come sia intenzione continuare nell’ormai tradizionale impegno ecumenico con le chiese ortodosse, molti rappresentati delle quali fanno parte dell’Ordine, consci del fatto che le dichiarazioni sulla guerra del Patriarca di Mosca, indegne di un pastore di anime, non rappresentano la vera anima dell’ortodossia russa.

Il Presidente della ONLUS, Giuseppe Canzone, ha aggiunto come si tratti di un piccolo sostegno concreto per i fratelli ucraini che stanno vivendo gravi disagi correlati con l’attuale stato di guerra.

40,000 EURO CLOTHING DONATION TO REFUGEES FROM UKRAINE

The Grand Bailiwick of Sicily, through San Lazzaro ONLUS, its charitable arm, donated one thousand new garments, worth 40,000 euro, for the refugees fleeing Ukraine, which will be delivered to the Polish-Ukrainian border with the support of Caritas.

On this occasion, the Grand Bailiff recalled that the Order of St. Lazarus has a millenary tradition of being close to all those in difficulty and suffering injustice and that in this case too, with its firm condemnation of Putin's barbaric attack on the Ukrainian people, the Grand Bailiff of Sicily wished to make his own modest contribution to alleviating the suffering of those fleeing the war.

The Grand Bailiff also stressed his intention to continue the now traditional ecumenical commitment with the Orthodox churches, many of whose representatives are members of the Order, aware that the declarations on the war by the Patriarch of Moscow, unworthy of a pastor of souls, do not represent the true soul of Russian Orthodoxy.

The President of the ONLUS, Giuseppe Canzone, added that this is a small concrete support for the Ukrainian brothers who are experiencing serious hardships related to the current state of war.
