IL GRAN PRIORATO DI FRANCIA SI MOBILITA PER I CRISTIANI DI TIRO IN LIBANO

L'Arcivescovo Melkita Georges Iskandar, Metropolita di Tiro, ha partecipato ai capitoli annuali del Gran Priorato di Francia a Parigi (Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre e Saint-Roch) negli ultimi tre anni.

Negli ultimi mesi, l'Arcidiocesi di Tiro si è trovata nel cuore di una zona di combattimento nel Libano meridionale. Naturalmente, i cristiani hanno cercato rifugio a Tiro, vicino al loro arcivescovo. Negli ultimi giorni, i bombardamenti hanno colpito il centro di Tiro. Contattato qualche giorno fa, l'Arcivescovo Iskandar ha chiarito che la sua diocesi non è interessata dall'ordine di evacuazione israeliano, ma che i rifugiati sono disperatamente privi di beni di prima necessità. I primi aiuti di emergenza sono stati inviati di recente, ma la situazione sta peggiorando.

L'obiettivo è fornire pacchi alimentari di emergenza (vedi allegato) alle famiglie bisognose, per consentire loro di rimanere nelle proprie case. Il vescovo Iskandar, tramite la Commenda dell'Île-de-France, si è appellato al Gran Priorato di Francia.

THE GRAND PRIORY OF FRANCE MOBILIZES FOR THE CHRISTIANS OF TYRE, LEBANON

Melkite Archbishop Georges Iskandar, Metropolitan of Tyre, has participated in the annual chapters of the Grand Priory of France in Paris (Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre and Saint-Roch) for the past three years.

In recent months, the Archdiocese of Tyre has found itself in the heart of a combat zone in southern Lebanon. Naturally, Christians have sought refuge in Tyre, near their archbishop. In recent days, bombings have hit the center of Tyre. Contacted a few days ago, Archbishop Iskandar clarified that his diocese is not affected by the Israeli evacuation order, but that refugees are desperately lacking basic necessities. The first emergency aid was recently sent, but the situation is worsening.

The goal is to provide emergency food packages (see attachment) to families in need, allowing them to remain in their homes. Bishop Iskandar, through the Commandery of Île-de-France, has appealed to the Grand Priory of France.
