MESSAGGIO AUGURALE DI SUA ECC.ZA REV.MA IL GRAN PRIORE ECCLESIASTICO A SUA SANTITÀ LEONE XIV

L'Ordine Militare e Ospedaliero di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme, che ha come Protettore Spirituale Sua Beatitudine il Patriarca Melchita Youssef Absi e come 50° Gran Maestro S.A.S. Don Francisco de Paula Joaquin de Borbon y von Hardenberg-Furstenberg, con profonda gioia e riverenza si unisce al giubilo della Chiesa universale per l'elezione di Sua Santità Leone XIV a 267° successore di San Pietro.

Con questa elezione è emersa l'importanza della comunione e dell'unità della Chiesa, chiamata ad annunciare al mondo intero la pace “disarmata e disarmante, umile e perseverante” di Cristo risorto e a costruire ponti attraverso il dialogo e l'incontro. Queste parole sono in profonda sintonia con i principi del nostro Ordine, che fin dalle sue origini ha abbracciato una vocazione ecumenica, promuovendo l'unità tra le diverse tradizioni cristiane e il servizio ai lebbrosi, ai malati e ai bisognosi.

L'elezione di Leone XIV rafforza la nostra speranza di un rinnovamento del cattolicesimo che abbracci la diversità e promuova la riconciliazione tra le confessioni cristiane, cosa importante per noi come Ordine ecumenico. Come membri di un Ordine che valorizza la dimensione spirituale, culturale e caritativa, ci sentiamo chiamati a sostenere e collaborare con il Santo Padre nella sua missione di guidare la Chiesa cattolica verso un futuro di unità e pace.

A nome del Gran Maestro, del Gran Consiglio Magistrale e di tutti i membri del nostro Ordine, eleviamo le nostre preghiere per Sua Santità Leone XIV e ci uniamo agli auguri per un lungo e prospero ministero pastorale arricchito dai doni dello Spirito Santo. Confidiamo che la sua guida sia luce per tutti i fedeli e ispirazione per la nostra missione di Cavalieri e Dame di San Lazzaro.

GREETING MESSAGE FROM YOUR REVEREND EXCELLENCY THE GRAND ECCLESIASTICAL PRIOR TO HIS HOLINESS LEO XIV

The Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, which has as its Spiritual Protector His Beatitude the Melkite Patriarch Youssef Absi and as the 50th Grand Master H.S.H. Don Francisco de Paula Joaquin de Borbon y von Hardenberg-Furstenberg, with deep joy and reverence joins in the jubilation of the universal Church at the election of His Holiness Leo XIV as the 267th successor of St. Peter.

With this election, the importance of the communion and unity of the Church emerged, called to proclaim to the whole world the "disarmed and disarming, humble and persevering" peace of the Risen Christ and to build bridges through dialogue and encounter. These words are in profound harmony with the principles of our Order, which from its origins has embraced an ecumenical vocation, promoting unity among the different Christian traditions and service to lepers, the sick and the needy.

The election of Leo XIV strengthens our hope for a renewal of Catholicism that embraces diversity and promotes reconciliation between Christian confessions, which is important to us as an ecumenical Order. As members of an Order that values the spiritual, cultural and charitable dimension, we feel called to support and collaborate with the Holy Father in his mission to guide the Catholic Church towards a future of unity and peace.

On behalf of the Grand Master, the Grand Magistral Council and all the members of our Order, we raise our prayers for His Holiness Leo XIV and join in wishing him a long and prosperous pastoral ministry enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We trust that his leadership will be light for all the faithful and inspiration for our mission as Knights and Dames of San Lazarus.
