Santità,

a nome dell'Ordine Militare e Ospedaliero di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme, ho l'onore di porgere le nostre più sentite congratulazioni per l'elezione di Vostra Santità a Sommo Pontefice e Vescovo di Roma.

Fondato nei primi secoli della presenza cristiana a Gerusalemme e riconosciuto formalmente da Papa Alessandro IV nel 1256, il nostro Ordine ha sostenuto a lungo la missione di prendersi cura dei malati e degli emarginati e di promuovere l'unità tra le tradizioni cristiane. La Sua elevazione a 267° Successore dell'Apostolo Pietro, e primo Pontefice di origine americana e peruviana, è un momento di profondo significato spirituale e storico.

Il Suo messaggio inaugurale, che invoca la pace, l'inclusione e l'unità tra tutti i popoli, riecheggia profondamente l'etica fondante del nostro Ordine: portare la guarigione sia al corpo che allo spirito e servire attraverso le linee confessionali e culturali con umiltà e fede. Ci hanno particolarmente commosso le parole pronunciate da Sua Santità durante la sua prima Messa: “Possa la fede essere una luce che illumina le notti buie di questo mondo”.

Come Ordine ecumenico fondato sul servizio e sulla tradizione cristiana, ci impegniamo a sostenere lealmente il pontificato di Sua Santità. Preghiamo affinché la sua leadership sia di forza, compassione e riconciliazione per la Chiesa e per l'intera umanità.

Your Holiness,

On behalf of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, I have the honour to extend our most heartfelt congratulations on Your Holiness’s election as Supreme Pontiff and Bishop of Rome.

Founded in the early centuries of the Christian presence in Jerusalem and formally recognized by Pope Alexander IV in 1256, our Order has long upheld the mission of caring for the sick and marginalized, and of fostering unity across Christian traditions.

Your elevation as the 267th Successor to the Apostle Peter, and the first Pontiff of American and Peruvian origin, is a moment of profound spiritual and historical significance.

Your inaugural message calling for peace, inclusion, and unity among all peoples deeply echoes the founding ethos of our Order: to bring healing to both body and spirit and to serve across confessional and cultural lines with humility and faith. We were particularly moved by Your Holiness’s words at your first Mass: “May faith be a light that illuminates the dark nights of this world.”

As an Ecumenical Order grounded in Christian service and tradition, we pledge our loyal support to Your Holiness’s pontificate. We offer our prayers that your leadership be one of strength, compassion, and reconciliation—for the Church and for all humanity.
