MESSAGGIO DI NATALE 2021 DEL PATRIARCA PROTETTORE SPIRITUALE DELL’ORDINE DI SAN LAZZARO DI GERUSALEMME

Carissime Dame e Cavalieri dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro!

In questo Santo Natale riflettiamo sul compiacimento di Dio di cui parla S. Paolo, dove afferma che: "Se infatti, mentre eravamo nemici di Dio, siamo stati riconciliati con lui mediante la morte del Figlio suo, quanto più, essendo stati riconciliati, saremo salvati mediante la sua vita" (Rm 5,10).

Il compiacimento di Dio si esprime attraverso l'incarnazione della Sua Parola per noi, per farci figli e per portare gioia e speranza nei nostri cuori, dove molti di noi, in luoghi diversi, sperimentano difficoltà e dolore.

Il compiacimento di Dio, ci spinge a rallegrarci gli uni verso gli altri, in particolare con quelli più lontani da noi, specialmente quelli che ci hanno fatto un torto, quelli che sono contro di noi, quelli che ci ostacolano.

Questo compiacimento è una opportunità ed occasione per la speranza, per la gioia e per ascoltare l'annuncio celeste: «Gloria a Dio nel più alto dei cieli e pace in terra agli uomini che Egli ama" (Lc 2.14).

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 2021 OF THE PATRIARCH SPIRITUAL PROTECTOR OF THE ORDER OF SAINT LAZARUS OF JERUSALEM

Dear Ladies and Knights of the Order of St. Lazarus!

At Christmas this year, we reflect upon God’s compassion of which speaks St. Paul and says: “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life” (Rom. 5: 10).

God’s compassion is expressed through the incarnation of his Word for our sake, to make us sons, and to bring about joy and hope to our hearts where many of us in many different places experience hardship and sorrow.

Let us this year show more compassion towards each other because in this compassion we share in God’s joy and we can sing with the angels: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace for those he favours” (Luke 2: 14).
