CENA DI BENEFICENZA NATALE 2021

Si è svolta presso la Tonnara Florio Zaharaziz la cena di beneficenza per il Natale 2021.

La tonnara venne costruita, si presume, intorno al XVII secolo, accanto al porto dell'Arenella. La prima data certa però è il 1830 quando venne acquistata dal Vincenzo Florio, e la tonnara venne quindi completamente ristrutturata sotto la guida dell'architetto Carlo Giachery. Agli inizi del Novecento, essendo quasi scomparsi i tonni nella zona, la tonnara venne abbandonata.

Dal 1980 gli eredi della tonnara le hanno restituito decoro trasformandola in Club Nautico nella parte prospiciente al mare e all'interno è stata adibita un'area dedicata a ristorante, e ad eventi. 

La manifestazione, organizzata dalla Karol Strutture Sanitarie e dal Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro in collaborazione con altre organizzazioni di volontariato e con il patrocinio dell’Arcidiocesi di Palermo, ha visto la partecipazione di moltissimi ospiti di varie provenienze etniche e culturali ed è stata allietata da uno spettacolo comico con Ernesto Maria Ponte, cui ha fatto seguito l’Estrazione a Premi Natalizia con Massimo Bonvissuto e dello staff di animazione della Karol R.S.A ed è culminata con la consegna regali ai bambini.

CHRISTMAS 2021 CHARITY DINNER

The charity dinner for Christmas 2021 was held at the Tonnara Florio Zaharaziz.

The tuna fishery was presumably built around the 17th century, next to the port of Arenella. The first certain date, however, is 1830 when it was purchased by Vincenzo Florio, and the tuna fishery was then completely renovated under the guidance of the architect Carlo Giachery. At the beginning of the twentieth century, since the tuna in the area had almost disappeared, the tuna fishery was abandoned.

Since 1980, the tuna fishery's heirs have restored it to its former glory by transforming the part of the tuna fishery facing the sea into a Nautical Club, while the interior has been turned into a restaurant and events area. 

The event, organised by Karol Strutture Sanitarie and by the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order of Saint Lazarus in cooperation with other voluntary organisations and under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Palermo, was attended by many guests of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds and was enlivened by a comedy show with Ernesto Maria Ponte, followed by the Christmas prize draw with Massimo Bonvissuto and the Karol R.S.A. entertainment staff, and culminated in the handing out of gifts to the children.
