ATTIVATO L’ACCORDO TRA LA SAN LAZZARO ONLUS E LA SAMO ONLUS PER L’ASSISTENZA AI MALATI TERMINALI E LE CURE PALLIATIVE AI NON ABBIENTI

Presso la clinica Triolo Zancla, durante la consueta giornata di assistenza sanitaria gratuita per i non abbienti, alla presenza del Cappellano Maggiore del Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme, l’Arcivescovo di Monreale Mons. Gualtiero Isacchi, ECLJ, è stato attivato il nuovo protocollo di collaborazione tra la San Lazzaro onlus e la SAMO Onlus (Società di Assistenza del Malato Oncologico), l’associazione che da 30 anni si occupa su tutto il territorio regionale dell’assistenza ai malati terminali e delle cure palliative.

Il nuovo protocollo consentirà ai malati terminali che non possono accedere ai servizi del SSN di fruire, comunque, della dovuta assistenza e delle cure palliative, grazie al servizio dei volontari.

L’Arcivescovo Isacchi ha avuto parole di grande apprezzamento per l’Ordine di San Lazzaro che, attraverso il proprio braccio operativo, la San Lazzaro Onlus, presieduta dal Dr. Giuseppe Canzone, KLJ, con la fattiva collaborazione anche di altre associazioni, è attivamente impegnato nel servizio agli ultimi, valorizzando il proprio carisma di ecumenicità ed intereligiosità che gli è ormai proprio fin dai primi del ‘900.

In questa occasione è stato pure annunciato che il prossimo 30 giugno, alle ore 17.00, presso la Chiesa Capitolare del Sacro Cuore in Monreale, avrà luogo un solenne pontificale presieduta da Mons. Isacchi, per celebrare i 30 anni di attività della SAMO, il cui presidente, il Dr. Luigi Zancla, è membro dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro.

ACTIVATED THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ST. LAZARUS NPO AND SAMO NPO FOR CARE FOR THE TERMINALLY PATIENT AND PALLIATIVE CARE FOR THE UNDERSERVED

At the Triolo Zancla clinic, during the usual free health care day for the underprivileged, in the presence of the Senior Chaplain of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, Archbishop of Monreale Mons. Gualtiero Isacchi, ECLJ, the new protocol of collaboration was activated between San Lazzaro NPO and SAMO NPO (Society for the Assistance of the Oncologically Patient), the association that for 30 years has been involved throughout the region in assistance to the terminally patient and palliative care.

The new protocol will allow terminally patients who are unable to access NHS services to still enjoy due care and palliative care, thanks to the service of volunteers.

Archbishop Isacchi had words of great appreciation for the Order of St. Lazarus, which, through its operating arm, the San Lazzaro NPO, chaired by Dr. Giuseppe Canzone, KLJ, with the active collaboration of other associations as well, is actively engaged in the service of the last, enhancing its charism of ecumenicality and inter-religiousness that has been its own since the early 1900s.

On this occasion, it was also announced that a solemn pontifical service, presided over by Bishop Isacchi, will be held next June 30 at 5 p.m. at the Chapter Church of the Sacred Heart in Monreale to celebrate 30 years of activity of SAMO, whose president, Dr. Luigi Zancla, is a member of the Order of St. Lazarus.
