CAPITOLO GENERALE ED INVESTITURE DEL GRAN PRIORATO DI INGHILTERRA E GALLES

Ha avuto luogo nei giorni 11 e 12 ottobre 2024 il Capitolo Generale del Gran Priorato di Inghilterra e Galles, con la celebrazione anche delle nuove investiture, presso La chiesa dell'oratorio di Cardiff di St Alban-on-the-Moors.

La riunione del Capitolo si è aperta con un minuto di silenzio in memoria del Gran Priore, il Molto Onorevole Michael Andrew Foster Jude Kerr, GCLJ-J, XIII Marchese di Lothian, morto improvvisamente pochi giorni prima della riunione. Lord Lothian era stato Gran Priore della giurisdizione per 11 anni.

La cerimonia di investitura è stata officiata dal Cappellano Generale, Rev. Canon Brendan Clover SChLJ. Il predicatore è stato S.E. Rev.ma Mark O'Toole GCMLJ, Arcivescovo di Cardiff-Menevia.

Oltre alla consueta ammissione dei postulanti e a una serie di promozioni e riconoscimenti, sono stati assegnati diversi premi speciali. 

S.E. il Cavaliere Charles Holloway, GCLJ, è stato creato Balì emerito d'Inghilterra e Galles, mentre il Cancelliere uscente della giurisdizione, Cavaliere Norman Hunter Rose KCLJ, è stato insignito dell'alta onorificenza della Gran Croce al Merito (GCMLJ). 

Il Segretario Generale, S.E. il Cavaliere Gareth Vaughan GCLJ, ha ricevuto la Decorazione al Merito del Servizio, come riconoscimento per i 20 anni di servizio all'Ordine; l'Arcivescovo di Cardiff-Menevia, è stato insignito della Gran Croce al Merito (GCMLJ) e Sua Grazia il Molto Reverendo e Molto Onorevole Rowan Douglas Williams, Baron Williams of Oystermouth, Arcivescovo Emerito di Canterbury e Primate emerito d’Inghilterra, ha ricevuto le sue insegne nel grado di Gran Cappellano Ecclesiastico (GCLJ).

CHAPTER-GENERAL AND INVESTITURE OF THE GRAND PRIORY OF ENGLAND AND WALES

The Chapter General of the Grand Priory of England and Wales, including the celebration of new investitures, took place on 11 and 12 October 2024 at the Cardiff Oratory Church of St Alban-on-the-Moors.

The Chapter meeting opened with a minute's silence in memory of the Grand Prior, the Very Honourable Michael Andrew Foster Jude Kerr, GCLJ-J, 13th Marquess of Lothian, who died suddenly a few days before the meeting. Lord Lothian had been Grand Prior of the jurisdiction for 11 years.

The investiture ceremony was officiated by the Chaplain General, Rev Canon Brendan Clover SChLJ. The preacher was H.E. Rev. Mark O'Toole GCMLJ, Archbishop of Cardiff-Menevia.

In addition to the usual admission of postulants and a series of promotions and awards, several special prizes were presented. 

H.E. Knight Charles Holloway, GCLJ, was created Bailiff Emeritus of England and Wales, while the outgoing Chancellor of the Jurisdiction, Knight Norman Hunter Rose KCLJ, was awarded the high honour of the Grand Cross of Merit (GCMLJ). 

The Secretary General, H.E. Knight Gareth Vaughan GCLJ, received the Decoration of Meritorious Service in recognition of 20 years of service to the Order; the Archbishop of Cardiff-Menevia, was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit (GCMLJ) and His Grace the Most Reverend and Most Honourable Rowan Douglas Williams, Baron Williams of Oystermouth, Archbishop Emeritus of Canterbury and Primate Emeritus of England, received his insignia in the rank of Grand Ecclesiastical Chaplain (GCLJ).
