FIRMA DELLA CONVENZIONE CON LA FACOLTA’ TEOLOGICA DI SICILIA “SAN GIOVANNI EVANGELISTA”

Presso la sede della Facoltà Teologica di Sicilia in Palermo, oggi 22 dicembre 2023, ha avuto luogo la cerimonia della firma di una convenzione tra il Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine di San lazzaro di Gerusalemme e la Facoltà Teologica “San Giovanni Evangelista”.

L’accordo, che prevede l’istituzione di due borse di studio annuali per studenti che inseriranno nei loro piani di studio materie attinenti all’ecumenismo ed ai rapporti interreligiosi, nonché un premio di laurea, con oggetto inerente i medesimi argomenti, è stato firmato dal Gran Balì di Sicilia e dal Preside della Facoltà Frà Rosario Pistone, alla presenza dell’Arcivescovo di Monreale Mons. Gualtiero Isacchi, Cappellano Maggiore del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, del Luogotenente Generale del Gran Baliato avv. Pietro Luigi Matta, del futuro Preside della Facoltà Don Vito Impellizzeri e del Direttore Amministrativo dell’Ateneo rag. Nicola Zarbo.         

Sia il Gran Balì che il Preside hanno sottolineato l’importanza dell’evento che segna l’avvio di un percorso collaborativo tra le due istituzioni destinato a proiettarsi nel tempo e con l’obiettivo di favorire, ciascuno negli ambiti di competenza, lo sviluppo dei rapporti ecumenici tra le varie chiese cristiane e tra esse e le altre comunità religiose.

SIGNING OF THE CONVENTION WITH THE THEOLOGICAL FACULTY OF SICILY "SAINT JOHN THE EVANGELIST”

At the seat of the Theological Faculty of Sicily in Palermo, today 22 December 2023, the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem and the Theological Faculty "St. John the Evangelist" took place.

The agreement, which provides for the establishment of two annual scholarships for students who will include in their curricula subjects related to ecumenism and interreligious relations, as well as a degree award, with a subject related to the same topics, was signed by the Grand Bailiff of Sicily and the Dean of the Faculty Frà Rosario Pistone, in the presence of the Archbishop of Monreale Mons. Gualtiero Isacchi, Major Chaplain of the Grand Bailiff of Sicily, the Lieutenant General of the Grand Bailiff, Pietro Luigi Matta, the future Dean of the Faculty, Don Vito Impellizzeri, and the Administrative Director of the University, Nicola Zarbo.         

Both the Grand Bailiff and the Dean underlined the importance of the event, which marks the start of a collaborative path between the two institutions destined to project over time and with the aim of fostering, each within its own sphere of competence, the development of ecumenical relations between the various Christian churches and between them and other religious communities.
