INVIO DI AIUTI A TONGA

L'eruzione del vulcano Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Haapai, situato a 65 chilometri da Tonga, ed il conseguente tsunami hanno avuto un effetto devastante su Tonga, devastando case, danneggiando gravemente edifici e infrastrutture e interrompendo tutte le comunicazioni con il resto del mondo. 

Il Comitato di Governo ed il Grande Ospedaliere hanno disposto una consistente donazione per i soccorsi a carico del Fondo Ospedaliero e della Fondazione Internazionale dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro.

A Tonga sono residenti alcuni membri dell’Ordine tra i quali, dal 2018, lo stesso Re di Tonga Ahoʻeitu ʻUnuakiʻotonga Tukuʻaho Tupou VI, di fede metodista, investito come Cavaliere di Gran Groce dal Gran Maestro dell’Ordine in occasione del suo ultimo viaggio in Nuova Zelanda. Inoltre, la sorella della Regina, Lady Cassandra Vaea, è anch’essa dama dell'Ordine e Commendatore ad interim della Commenda del Regno di Tonga in via di costituzione, facente capo al Gran Priorato della Nuova Zelanda.

I fondi saranno segregati in un fondo separato presso il Gran Priorato della Nuova Zelanda, destinato all'assistenza umanitaria a Tonga.

Tutti coloro che desiderassero contribuire ulteriormente al soccorso per Tonga potranno effettuare un versamento sul conto corrente del Gran Baliato di Sicilia, con la causale “Tonga”, sull’IBAN IT6100200804638000105518357, e le somme raccolte saranno a fine aprile inviate al Gran Priorato della Nuova Zelanda per il potenziamento dei soccorsi.

SENDING AID TO TONGA

The eruption of the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Haapai volcano, located 65 kilometres from Tonga, and the resulting tsunami had a devastating effect on Tonga, devastating homes, severely damaging buildings and infrastructure and disrupting all communication with the rest of the world. 

The Government Committee and the Grand Hospitaller have arranged for a substantial donation for relief from the Hospitaller Fund and the International Foundation of the Order of St. Lazarus.

A number of members of the Order are resident in Tonga including, as of 2018, the King of Tonga himself, Ahoʻeitu ʻUnuakiʻotonga Tukuʻaho Tupou VI, who was invested as a Knight of the Grand Cross by the Grand Master of the Order on his most recent trip to New Zealand. In addition, the Queen's sister, Lady Cassandra Vaea, is also a Dame of the Order and Acting Commander of the Commendation of the Kingdom of Tonga, which is being established under the Grand Priory of New Zealand.

The funds will be segregated in a separate fund at the Grand Priory of New Zealand for humanitarian assistance in Tonga.

All those who wish to contribute further to the relief for Tonga can make a payment to the current account of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily, with the causal "Tonga", on the IBAN IT6100200804638000105518357, and the sums collected will be sent at the end of April to the Grand Priory of New Zealand for the enhancement of the relief.
