SUA ECCELLENZA IL CAVALIERE KLAUS-PETER POKOLM GCLJ, GCMLJ, GRAN PRIORE EMERITO DEL GRAN PRIORATO UMANITARIO D’EUROPA, E’ TORNATO ALLA CASA DEL PADRE

È tornato alla casa del Padre lo scorso 22 aprile 2024 Sua Eccellenza il Cavaliere Klaus-Peter Pokolm GCLJ, GCMLJ, Gran Priore emerito del Gran Priorato Umanitario d’Europa.

Ha dedicato tutta la sua forza, la sua abilità organizzativa e il suo impegno all'Ordine di San Lazzaro per tutta la vita. Questo ha reso possibile la fondazione del Gran Priorato Umanitario d’Europa più di 50 anni fa. Il suo grande merito è la creazione del Lazarus Hilfswerk (LHW). Sotto la sua determinata guida, è diventata un'istituzione umanitaria di successo ed altamente riconosciuta nell'assistenza, nei servizi sociali e di soccorso.

Il Gran Priorato Umanitario d'Europa (GPEU) è una giurisdizione indipendente e sovranazionale dell'Ordine Militare e Ospedaliero di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme.

Per decreto del Gran Maestro dell'Ordine di Lazzaro il GPEU è stato istituito come collegamento istituzionale tra l'Agenzia di Soccorso di Lazzaro (con sede in Germania), come organizzazione non governativa europea riconosciuta (ONG) e Organizzazione di volontariato, e l'Ordine Internazionale di Lazzaro.

L’instancabile e coraggioso impegno di Klaus-Peter Pokolm per l'amicizia tra Polonia e Germania, sostenuta personalmente anche da Papa Giovanni Paolo II, rimane esemplare. Ha trasformato i cristiani di molti paesi europei in fratelli nello spirito dell'ecumenismo.

Le esequie hanno avuto luogo ieri 29 aprile 2024 nella chiesa di St. Katharina ad Alt-Hürth.

Et cum Lazaro, quondam paupere, aeternam habeat requiem.

HIS EXCELLENCY KNIGHT KLAUS-PETER POKOLM GCLJ, GCMLJ, GRAND PRIOR EMERITUS OF THE GRAND HUMANITARIAN PRIORY OF EUROPE HAS RETURNED TO FATHER'S HOUSE

His Excellency Knight Klaus-Peter Pokolm GCLJ, GCMLJ, Grand Prior Emeritus of the Humanitarian Grand Priory of Europe, returned to the house of the Father on 22 April 2024.

He has dedicated all his strength, organisational skills and commitment to the Order of St. Lazarus throughout his life. This made the foundation of the Humanitarian Grand Priory of Europe more than 50 years ago possible. His great merit is the creation of the Lazarus Hilfswerk (LHW). Under his determined leadership, it has become a successful and highly recognised humanitarian institution in assistance, social and relief services.

The Grand Humanitarian Priory of Europe (GPEU) is an independent and supranational jurisdiction of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem.

By decree of the Grand Master of the Order of Lazarus, the GPEU was established as an institutional link between the Lazarus Relief Agency (based in Germany), as a recognised European non-governmental organisation (NGO) and voluntary organisation, and the International Order of Lazarus.

Klaus-Peter Pokolm's tireless and courageous commitment to Polish-German friendship, personally supported also by Pope John Paul II, remains exemplary. He turned Christians from many European countries into brothers in the spirit of ecumenism.

The funeral took place yesterday 29 April 2024 in St. Katharina Church in Alt-Hürth.
