SUA ECCELLENZA IL CAVALIERE PETER FOTHETINGAM, GCLJ, KMLJ, GRAN BALI’ EMERITO DEL GRAN PRIORATO DI INGHILTERRA E GALLES, E’ TORNATO ALLA CASA DEL PADRE

È tornato alla casa del Padre lo scorso 16 aprile 2024, all'età di 95 anni, Sua Eccellenza il Cavaliere Peter Ernest Albert Fotheringham GCLJ, KMLJ, già Balì del Gran Baliato di Inghilterra e Galles (Obbedienza di Malta) e, dopo l’unificazione, Balivo Emerito del Gran Priorato di Inghilterra e Galles.

Peter Ernest Albert Fotheringham era entrato nell'Ordine nel 1991 con il grado di Ufficiale (OLJ). Oltre ad essere un Cavaliere di Merito nella Compagnia del Merito, deteneva anche medaglie d'oro e d'argento e Croci di merito. Da Balì dell'ex Gran Baliato di Inghilterra e Galles, ha sostenuto e facilitato l'unificazione delle due obbedienze, estendendo la mano dell'amicizia ai membri dell'ex Gran Priorato (Obbedienza di Parigi) e contribuendo a spianare la strada al processo di riunificazione in cui il suo successore come Balì, S.E. il Cavaliere Charles Holloway GCLJ, KMLJ, ha svolto un ruolo così importante.

Dopo l'unificazione delle obbedienze sotto la denominazione di Gran Priorato d'Inghilterra e Galles, Peter Fotheringham, come membro della Commenda di Aragon ed ex alto dignitario del Gran Priorato, ha continuato a sostenere l'Ordine sia a livello nazionale che di commenda, finché la sua salute l'ha permesso.

HIS EXCELLENCY KNIGHT PETER FOTHETINGAM, GCLJ, KMLJ, GRAND BAILIFF EMERITUS OF THE GRAND PRIORY OF ENGLAND AND WALES, HAS RETURNED TO FATHER'S HOUSE

His Excellency the Chevalier Peter Ernest Albert Fotheringham GCLJ, KMLJ, has returned to father’s house on 16th April 2024, aged 95, sometime Bailiff of the Grand Bailiwick of England & Wales (Malta Obedience) and Bailiff Emeritus of the Grand Priory of England & Wales.

Peter Ernest Albert Fotheringham joined the Order in 1991 in the rank of Officer (OLJ). In addition to being a Knight of Merit in the Companionate of Merit, he also held both Gold and Silver Medals and Crosses of Merit. Whilst Bailiff of the former Grand Bailiwick of England & Wales, Peter supported and facilitated the unification of the two obediences, extending the hand of friendship to members of the former Grand Priory (Paris Obedience) and helping to pave the way to the process of reunification in which his successor as Bailiff, H.E. the Chevalier Charles Holloway GCLJ, KMLJ, played so important a role.

After the harmonisation of obediences under the designation of the Grand Priory of England & Wales, Peter, as a member of the Commandery of Aragon and a former senior officer, continued to support the Order at both National and Commandery levels as long as his health permitted.
