Eccellenza,

Cristo è risorto!

Vi preghiamo di accettare i miei e quelli della Chiesa ortodossa bulgara – Patriarcato di Bulgaria Condoglianze per la beata scomparsa di Sua Santità Papa Francesco.

La morte di Papa Francesco è una grande perdita sia per la Chiesa cattolica che per e per il mondo intero.

Il suo impegno, pari a quello degli Apostoli, in momenti così difficili per l'umanità, era rivolto non solo ai pressanti problemi spirituali e pastorali della Chiesa e dei credenti cristiani, ma anche delle regioni del mondo dove i cristiani e non sono ancora vittime di persecuzione, ed il papa Francesco li ha riconosciuti come veri testimoni di Cristo nella sofferenza e martirio.

Il pontificato di Papa Francesco ha realizzato il desiderio con azioni concrete per l'instaurazione della pace e della stabilità in Medio Oriente e Nord Africa, in Ucraina e decine di altri paesi in tutto il mondo, dove l'uomo, in quanto creazione più perfetta di Dio ancora sofferente.

Ciò che Papa Francesco ha ottenuto è di invitare la comunità internazionale a agire con urgenza per impedire ulteriori persecuzioni e uccisioni di persone innocenti, per porre fine alle guerre, alla violenza ed al terrorismo, mentre allo stesso tempo sono garantiti aiuti umanitari su larga scala alla popolazione sofferente, così come ai tanti rifugiati in tutto il mondo.

Papa Francesco è stato l'uomo di pace di Dio.

Riuscì a unire tutti i gruppi religiosi nella preghiera e nell'azione umanitaria come un vero leader religioso.

Durante la sua visita in Bulgaria nel maggio 2019, ha anche reso omaggio all’opera della Chiesa ortodossa bulgara ed alla sua tradizione dei santi fratelli Cirillo e Metodio e dei loro discepoli. Ha, inoltre, sottolineato l'unicità religiosa, tolleranza e pace nella nostra cara Patria Bulgaria ed attivato il mondo intero affinché ciò sia da esempio.

Attraverso la sua umile attività apostolica e pastorale, come successore di San Pietro, Papa Francesco ha invitato i credenti di tutti i paesi a imparare a vivere insieme in pace e amore in Gesù Cristo nostro Signore.

Che Dio lo abbia in gloria e che la sua memoria sia eterna e benedetta!

VERAMENTE IL SIGNORE È RISORTO!

Vi preghiamo di accettare le nostre più sincere condoglianze per la scomparsa di Papa Francesco.

La Settimana Santa di Pasqua, che quest'anno i cristiani di tutto il mondo celebrano contemporaneamente, è segnata da una grande perdita e da un evento umanamente doloroso: la morte terrena della guida spirituale di milioni di cristiani in tutto il mondo. Ma noi cristiani guardiamo sempre alla morte nella prospettiva della fede nella Risurrezione di Cristo, come impegno della futura Risurrezione universale dei morti.

Per noi la Risurrezione è speranza e attesa, cioè una realtà indubbia, una ferma fiducia nella promessa del nostro Salvatore.

Con tale ferma fiducia mandiamo da questo mondo l'anima di Papa Francesco.

Non è un caso che il suo ultimo libro autobiografico si intitoli "Speranza". Con questa speranza con cui ha vissuto la sua vita, con questa viva attesa della Risurrezione, che è già qui, tra noi, nella Persona del Vincitore della morte – il Dio-Uomo Gesù Cristo, rivolgiamoci a Dio in preghiera per il riposo dell’anima di Papa Francesco e per il perdono di tutte le sue trasgressioni volontarie e involontarie.

Che Dio lo abbia in gloria!

Please accept mine and those of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church - Patriarchate of Bulgaria Condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.

The death of Pope Francis is a great loss both to the Catholic Church and to and for the whole world.

His commitment, equal to that of the Apostles, in such difficult times for humanity, was directed not only to the pressing spiritual and pastoral problems of the Church and Christian believers, but also to the regions of the world where Christians and non-Christians are still victims of persecution, and Pope Francis recognised them as true witnesses of Christ in their suffering and martyrdom.

The pontificate of Pope Francis has realised this desire with concrete actions for the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East and North Africa, in Ukraine and dozens of other countries around the world, where man as God's most perfect creation still suffers.

What Pope Francis has achieved is to call upon the international community to act urgently to prevent further persecution and killing of innocent people, to put an end to wars, violence and terrorism, while at the same time providing large-scale humanitarian aid to the suffering population, as well as to the many refugees around the world.

Pope Francis was God's man of peace.

He managed to unite all religious groups in prayer and humanitarian action as a true religious leader.

During his visit to Bulgaria in May 2019, he also paid tribute to the work of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and its tradition of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius and their disciples. He also emphasised the religious uniqueness, tolerance and peace in our dear homeland Bulgaria and activated the whole world to set an example.

Through his humble apostolic and pastoral activity, as the successor of St. Peter, Pope Francis invited believers from all countries to learn to live together in peace and love in Jesus Christ our Lord.

May God have him in glory and may his memory be eternal and blessed!

TRULY THE LORD IS RISEN!

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Pope Francis.

The Holy Week of Easter, which Christians all over the world are celebrating at the same time this year, is marked by a great loss and a humanly painful event: the earthly death of the spiritual leader of millions of Christians around the world. But we Christians always look at death from the perspective of faith in the Resurrection of Christ, as a commitment to the future universal Resurrection of the dead.

For us, the Resurrection is hope and expectation, that is, an undoubted reality, a firm trust in the promise of our Saviour.

With such firm confidence we send forth from this world the soul of Pope Francis.

It is no coincidence that his latest autobiographical book is entitled Hope. With this hope with which he lived his life, with this lively expectation of the Resurrection, which is already here, among us, in the Person of the Victor of death - the God-Man Jesus Christ, let us turn to God in prayer for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis and for the forgiveness of all his voluntary and involuntary transgressions.

May God have him in glory!
