Si è spento, oggi 31 dicembre 2022, in Vaticano, il Papa Emerito Sua Santità Benedetto XVI all’età di 95 anni.

Il Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme partecipa il proprio lutto e cordoglio per la dipartita dell’amato Pastore con il messaggio diramato dal confratello Antonino Raspanti, ECLJ, Vescovo di Acireale e Presidente della Conferenza Episcopale Siciliana:

invito, memore dei benefici ricevuti dal Suo Magistero, durante gli anni di pontificato (2005-2013), ad elevare preghiere di suffragio.

Uomo di straordinaria cultura e pietà, ha penetrato con animo contemplativo il mistero di Cristo e della Chiesa. I suoi testi, le Lettere Encicliche e i vari documenti restano un punto di riferimento per incontrare e amare Gesù di Nazareth.

Edificati dalla sua umiltà, lo ricordiamo con affetto e venerazione, mentre egli va incontro al Padre nella cui tenerezza e misericordia ha confidato.

His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI passed away today, 31 December 2022, in the Vatican at the age of 95.

The Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem shares its mourning and condolences for the departure of its beloved Pastor with the message issued by Brother Antonino Raspanti, ECLJ, Bishop of Acireale and President of the Sicilian Episcopal Conference:

I invite, mindful of the benefits received from his Magisterium, during the years of his pontificate (2005-2013), to raise prayers of suffrage.

A man of extraordinary culture and piety, he penetrated the mystery of Christ and the Church with a contemplative spirit. His texts, Encyclicals and various documents remain a point of reference to encounter and love Jesus of Nazareth.

Edified by his humility, we remember him with affection and veneration, as he goes to meet the Father in whose tenderness and mercy he trusted.
