MESSAGGIO DI PASQUA 2024 AI MEMBRI DELL’ORDINE DI SAN LAZZARO DELL’ARCHIMANDRITA MONS. CHIHADE ABBOUD, CHLJ, APOCRISARIO PRESSO LA SANTA SEDE DI SUA BEATITUDINE IL PATRIARCA MELKITA

Cristo è risorto È veramente risorto!

Χριστός Ανέστη… Αληθώς Ανέστη!

المسيح قام... حقًّا قام!

Carissimi Confratelli e Consorelle dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro,

L’Evangelista Marco aveva concluso il suo Vangelo con il timore, la fuga ed il silenzio delle donne. Il cuore degli Apostoli e tutti i seguaci di Cristo, i loro occhi, la loro vita sono annebbiati dalla morte inconcepibile. L’unica loro domanda, prima di vivere l’esperienza della resurrezione, era: ‘chi ci rotolerà via la pietra dal sepolcro?’ (Mc 16: 3).

Anche noi abbiamo tante domande nella nostra mente: Chi ci farà rotolare via la pietra di tutte le malattie, dell’ignoranza, dall’incredulità, della libertà falsa, della mentalità che distrugge la dignità umana, delle guerre, della fame, del freddo, della solitudine, della povertà, della disperazione…??? La risposta a questa domanda si trova sulla bocca di San Giovanni: ‘Maria di Màgdala si recò al sepolcro di mattino, quando era ancora buio, e vide che la pietra era stata tolta dal sepolcro’. (Gv 20: 1).

Si, cari confratelli e consorelle, la Pasqua è il sigillo infranto, la pietra rotolata, le guardie tramortite e Gesù risorto. È il nostro passaggio da una vita ad un altro tipo di vita mediante l’opera di Dio in noi: “Io darò loro un medesimo cuore, metterò dentro di loro un nuovo spirito, toglierò dal loro corpo il cuore di pietra, e metterò in loro un cuore di carne, perché camminino secondo le mie prescrizioni e osservino le mie leggi e le mettano in pratica; essi saranno il mio popolo e io sarò il loro Dio” (Ez. 11:19-20).

Ancora un'altra volta San Giovanni nell'Apocalisse ci rivela la decisione di Dio: "Vidi poi un cielo nuovo e una terra nuova: il cielo e la terra di prima infatti erano scomparsi e il mare non c'era più. E Colui che sedeva sul trono disse: Ecco, io faccio nuove tutte le cose" (Ap. 21: 1). San Giovanni damasceno nel suo poema del canone della resurrezione si esprime nell’Ypakoì così: ‘Giungendo prima dell’alba, Maria e le sue compagne trovarono la pietra del sepolcro ribaltata e udirono dall’angelo queste parole: Perché cercate tra i morti, come un uomo, colui che è nell’eterna luce? Guardate le bende sepolcrali, correte e annunziate al mondo che è risorto il Signore, uccidendo la morte: perché è il Figlio di Dio, colui che salva il genere umano’.

Non ci sono più impedimenti alla vita nuova, perché crediamo che Dio è capace di smuovere la pietra dal nostro vecchio cuore e di rotolarla via per darci un cuore di carne e renderci creature nuove, luminose…

Voglia trasmettere gli affettuosi auguri del Patriarca Protettore dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Sua Beatitudine il Patriarca Youssef Absi, in questo primo giorno della settimana, il giorno nuovo augurando a ciascuno:

un cuore nuovo dove regna l’Amore,

una vita nuova dove regna la Pace,

una nuova mentalità dove regna l’Armonia divina,

per poter risuscitare con il Cristo e inneggiare con tutta la creatura nuova Cristo è risorto è veramente risorto!

Christ is risen He is truly risen!

Χριστός Ανέστη... Αληθώς Ανέστη!

المسيح قام... حقًّا قام!

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Order of St. Lazarus,

The Evangelist Mark had concluded his Gospel with the fear, flight and silence of the women. The hearts of the Apostles and all the followers of Christ, their eyes, their lives are clouded by the inconceivable death. Their only question before experiencing the resurrection was, 'who will roll away the stone from the tomb for us?' (Mk. 16: 3).

We too have so many questions in our minds: Who will roll away the stone from us of all diseases, ignorance, unbelief, false freedom, mentality that destroys human dignity, wars, hunger, cold, loneliness, poverty, despair...?? The answer to this question is found on the lips of St. John: 'Mary of Maagdala went to the tomb in the morning, when it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.' (Jn 20: 1).

Yes, dear brothers and sisters, Easter is the broken seal, the rolled stone, the stunned guards and the risen Jesus. It is our passage from one life to another through God's work in us, "I will give them the same heart, I will put a new spirit within them, I will remove from their bodies the heart of stone, and put in them a heart of flesh, that they may walk according to my prescriptions and keep my laws and put them into practice; they shall be my people, and I will be their God" (Ez. 11:19-20).

Yet another time St. John in Revelation reveals God's decision to us, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the former heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And He who sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new" (Rev. 21: 1). St. John Damascene in his poem of the resurrection canon expresses himself in the Ypakoì as follows: 'Arriving before dawn, Mary and her companions found the stone of the tomb overturned and heard from the angel these words: Why do you seek among the dead, like a man, the one who is in eternal light? Look at the sepulchral bandages, run and announce to the world that the Lord is risen, killing death: for he is the Son of God, the one who saves mankind.'

There are no more hindrances to new life, for we believe that God is able to move the stone from our old heart and roll it away to give us a heart of flesh and make us new, radiant creatures...

Please convey the affectionate wishes of the Patriarch Protector of the Order of St. Lazarus of His Beatitude Patriarch Youssef Absi, on this first day of the week, the new day wishing each one:

a new heart where Love reigns,

a new life where Peace reigns,

a new mentality where divine Harmony reigns,

that we may resurrect with Christ and hymn with all the new creature Christ is risen is truly risen!
