MESSAGGIO PASQUALE 2025 DI S.E. REV.MA MONS. GUALTIERO ISACCHI, ECLJ CAPPELLANO MAGGIORE DEL GRAN BALIATO DI SICILIA

Cari Confratelli e consorelle dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme: Cristo è risorto, Alleluia!

È un annuncio al contempo affascinante e difficile da credere. Affascinante perché il nostro cuore ne intuisce la verità profonda. Difficile da credere perché le circostanze attuali spingono l’umanità ad accogliere queste parole come fossero un incoraggiamento intimo, personale. Si tratta invece di annuncio universale consegnato ad ogni cristiano, ad ogni uomo e ogni donna, credenti e non credenti, ad ogni essere vivente, al creato intero.

Con l’oggi della Pasqua, l’universo vive in una vita nuova.

Paolo rivolgendosi ai Colossesi, scrive: «Fratelli e sorelle, la vostra vita è nascosta con Cristo in Dio! Quando Cristo, vostra vita, sarà manifestato, allora anche voi apparirete con lui nella gloria» (Col. 3,3-4). Sin da ora la nostra vita non è più la stessa di prima. È una vita differente, anche se la sua diversità non appare in modo evidente, immediatamente riconoscibile. È per il momento nascosta nel mistero di Dio e si manifesterà pienamente nell’ultimo giorno quando Gesù verrà nella gloria.

Allora ciò che per il momento è nascosto diventerà visibile.

Tutto sembra essere come prima eppure niente è come prima!

Tutto ciò che da ora accade appartiene al Mistero Pasquale, è innervato della luce e del significato della risurrezione. La morte non è più morte, è già risurrezione. Il male non è più male, è già redento e riscattato. Il peccato non è più peccato, è già perdonato. Il dolore non è più dolore, è già riscattato. La disperazione non è più disperazione, è già vinta dalla speranza. Tutto è nascosto, ma tutto è reale e verrà rivelato!

Di questi noi siamo testimoni.

I testimoni della risurrezione sono coloro che aiutano a sollevare, almeno un poco, il velo che ancora nasconde il senso della storia e della vita. Sono coloro che fanno trasparire la luce necessaria perché l’umanità cammini nella speranza.

Sia questo il nostro impegno e la nostra testimonianza.

EASTER MESSAGE 2025 BY HIS EXCELLENCE REV. GUALTIERO ISACCHI, ECLJ MAJOR CHAPLAIN OF THE GRAND BAILIWICK OF SICILY

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem: Christ is risen, Alleluia!

It is an announcement at once fascinating and difficult to believe. Fascinating because our hearts sense its profound truth. Difficult to believe because current circumstances force humanity to accept these words as if they were an intimate, personal encouragement. Instead, it is a universal proclamation delivered to every Christian, to every man and woman, believers and non-believers, to every living being, to the whole of creation.

With today's Easter, the universe lives in a new life.

Paul, addressing the Colossians, writes: "Brothers and sisters, your life is hidden with Christ in God! When Christ, your life, is manifested, then you too will appear with him in glory" (Col 3:3-4). As of now, our life is not the same as before. It is a different life, even if its diversity does not appear in an obvious, immediately recognisable way. It is for the moment hidden in the mystery of God and will be fully manifested on the last day when Jesus comes in glory.

Then what is hidden for the moment will become visible.

Everything seems to be as before and yet nothing is as before!

Everything that happens from now on belongs to the Paschal Mystery, it is imbued with the light and meaning of the resurrection. Death is no longer death, it is already resurrection. Evil is no longer evil, it is already redeemed and redeemed. Sin is no longer sin, it is already forgiven. Pain is no longer pain, it is already redeemed. Despair is no longer despair, it is already overcome by hope. All is hidden, but all is real and will be revealed!

Of these we are witnesses.

The witnesses of the resurrection are those who help to lift, at least a little, the veil that still hides the meaning of history and life. They are those who shine the light necessary for humanity to walk in hope.

May this be our commitment and our testimony.
