UDIENZA CON PAPA FRANCESCO DELLA DELEGAZIONE DELLA CHIESA BULGARA ORTODOSSA

Una delegazione della Chiesa Bulgara Ortodossa è stata ricevuta da Papa Francesco lo scorso 27 novembre 2021 presso il Palazzo Apostolico, nella Città del Vaticano.

All'udienza erano presenti il Metropolita Antonio dell'Europa Occidentale e Centrale presso la Chiesa Bulgara Ortodossa - Patriarcato di Bulgaria ed il Presbitero Prof. Dr. Ivan Ivanov, Docente della Facoltà di Teologia dell’Università di Sofia e della Facoltà di Teologia della Pontificia Università Lateranense a Roma, Rappresentante ecclesiastico-diplomatico della Chiesa Bulgara Ortodossa per i rapporti con la Santa Sede, parroco della Comunità ecclesiastica ortodossa bulgara a Roma e a Milano e Responsabile per l’ecumenismo del Gran Baliato di Sicilia dell’Ordine di San Lazzaro di Gerusalemme.

La visita è stata un incontro di buona volontà tra papa Francesco ed i rappresentanti della Chiesa ortodossa bulgara, che lo hanno accolto in Bulgaria durante la visita apostolica (5-7 maggio 2019) in occasione dell'incontro con il Santo Patriarca bulgaro Neofita e il Santo Sinodo della Chiesa Bulgara Ortodossa.

La delegazione ha portato a Papa Francesco i saluti ed i ringraziamenti del Patriarca bulgaro Neofita. Sono state discusse questioni generali riguardanti il dialogo fraterno e amichevole tra la Chiesa bulgara e la Chiesa cattolica nel campo della comunione diplomatica, sociale, culturale, storica, educativa, liturgica e pastorale.

Questa comunione fraterna è una prova della giusta direzione delle relazioni ecumeniche in via di sviluppo, specialmente in questo difficile periodo di pandemia e di problemi mondiali per tutta l'umanità e i cristiani, in cui tutti hanno bisogno di comunione e di testimonianza del comune servizio cristiano davanti al Signore Gesù Cristo.

AUDIENCE WITH POPE FRANCIS OF THE DELEGATION OF THE BULGARIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH

A delegation from the Bulgarian Orthodox Church was received by Pope Francis on 27 November 2021 at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City.

Present at the audience were Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe at the Bulgarian Orthodox Church - Patriarchate of Bulgaria and Presbyter Prof. Dr. Ivan Ivanov, Professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. Ivan Ivanov, Professor at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Sofia and at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, ecclesiastical-diplomatic representative of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church for relations with the Holy See, parish priest of the Bulgarian Orthodox Ecclesiastical Community in Rome and Milan and responsible for ecumenism of the Grand Bailiwick of Sicily of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem.

The visit was a goodwill meeting between Pope Francis and representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, who welcomed him to Bulgaria during the apostolic visit (5-7 May 2019) on the occasion of the meeting with the Bulgarian Holy Patriarch Neophyte and the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

The delegation brought to Pope Francis the greetings and thanks of Bulgarian Patriarch Neofita. General issues concerning the fraternal and friendly dialogue between the Bulgarian Church and the Catholic Church in the field of diplomatic, social, cultural, historical, educational, liturgical and pastoral communion were discussed.

This fraternal communion is a proof of the right direction of the developing ecumenical relations, especially in this difficult period of pandemic and world problems for all humanity and Christians, in which all need communion and witness to the common Christian service before the Lord Jesus Christ.
